Experiment Protocol - Summary
In the Amiloride (AMIL) experiment, the protocol is identical to the water loading experiment. At the start of experiment the subject drinks a litre of tap water to water load. At 60 min they empty their bladder retaining the urine for analysis and drink an equivalent volume of tap water to the urine volume to maintain water loading. Urine samples are taken every 20 min and urinary losses are again made up by drinking equivalent volumes of tap water. Blood sample are taken at 0, 120, 180 and 240 min. Amiloride (20mg) is administered orally at 140 min.
