Experiment Protocol - Summary

In the water loading experiment, the subject drinks a litre of tap water at the start of experiment. The bladder is emptied at 60 min and the urine retained for analysis. The subject drinks an equivalent volume of tap water to the urine volume to maintain water loading. Urine samples are then taken every 20 minutes and urinary losses are again made up by drinking equivalent volumes of tap water. Blood samples are taken at O, 120,180 and 240 min.
