Peptides and Glycoproteins (v)
How long do peptide hormones remain active?
- Peptide hormones have short half-lives (T ½) (e.g. for insulin it is 7 minutes.)
- For this reason they produce rapid reactions of short duration.
- Glycoprotein hormones such as TSH, LH and FSH have longer half-lives (e.g. for TSH it is 180 minutes)
