How long do peptide hormones remain active?

• Peptide hormones have short half-lives (T ½) (e.g. for insulin it is 7 minutes.)
• For this reason they produce rapid reactions of short duration.
• Glycoprotein hormones such as TSH, LH and FSH have longer half-lives (e.g. for TSH it is 180 minutes)
