2. Indirect Measurement

Blood pressure may be estimated by using a non-invasive auscultatory method which uses a sphygmomanometer.

A sphygmomanometer comprises an inflatable cuff, a rubber bulb pump and either a mercury manometer or an air pressure gauge.
