FIRST CONTACT (PRIMARY CARE) LEVEL

The updated review found no evidence for the effectiveness of antioxidants in preventing pre-eclampsia, at least in the settings where the trials included in the review were conducted. Hence, vitamins C and/or E should not be routinely prescribed to pregnant women, unless specific diet deficiencies are identified in selected areas.
