Medical problems during pregnancy

In this section, one commentary reminds readers that in spite of the seriousness of the problem of anaemia in pregnancy, sufficient data are not available to recommend iron therapy for pregnant women. Two reviews reaffirm that magnesium sulfate not only reduces maternal deaths from eclampsia, but also halves the risk of the condition. Another review finds that antioxidants may not help to reduce the risk of pre-eclampsia.
