Vivian Brache is Director, Biomedical Research Department, Profamilia, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She is a consultant to the International Committee of Contraceptive Research of the Population Council, New York, NY, USA, to the Contraceptive Research and Development Program, CONRAD, Arlington, VA, USA, and is a member of the Americas Regional Advisory Panel of the Department of Reproductive Health and Research, World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland. Her main research interests are contraceptive research and development and microbicides for the prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
