The module builds on previous knowledge acquired from professionalism and is designed to promote an understanding of the ethical and legal issues that impact on nursing and midwifery.

AIM OF MODULE

To enable students develop knowledge in ethics and law that have implications on the nursing and midwifery practice.

MODULE LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon completion of this module learners shall be able to:-

a) Analyze ethical theories, principles and rules

b) Manage ethical and legal issues arising from practice

c) Reflect on the significance of ethics, law and human rights for professional nursing practice
