The module provides an in-depth study of pathophysiological mechanisms of diseases and nursing management of adult patients with chronic and terminal conditions. Emphasis is placed on surveillance, patient/family education, maintenance of health, rehabilitation and needs based approaches and where applicable end of life care.

Upon completion of this module learners shall be able to:-

b) Explain the interventional approaches to chronic/terminal conditions including specific patient/family education.


c) Discuss the comprehensive nursing management of adult patients with chronic/terminal conditions using the problem solving approach.


d) Explain palliative nursing care of clients with terminal conditions.
