The module provides an in-depth study of patholophysiological mechanisms of diseases and nursing management of adult patients with acute condition. Emphasis is placed on assessment and acute care interventions. This incorporates the problem solving approach and relevant nursing theories.

Aim of this Module
to equip students with theoretical knowledge, skills and approropriate attitudes in the management of adult patients with acute conditions.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this module learners shall be able to:-
a) Analyze disease processes in acute illness.
b) Outline the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to acute care conditions.
c) Discuss the comprehensive nursing management of adult patients with acute conditions using the problem solving approach.
