• Apply theoretical and empirical knowledge from midwifery and the scientific and humanistic disciplines to the midwifery care of a person within the context of childbearing family.
• Explore the historical, legal, political, socio-cultural, economic, technological and ethical factors that influence the midwifery care in the childbearing families and communities.
• Describe the health needs of childbearing families including physical, cultural, nutritional, developmental, psychological, psychosocial, educational and spiritual needs.
