Module Overview

(i) Module Descriptor

This module provides the learner with knowledge and skills in language and communication, information technology and health management information systems relevant to nursing and midwifery. The module is divided into three parts: Language and Communication, Information Technology and Health Management Information Systems.

(ii) Aim of the Module

To enable students to develop language proficiency and information literacy skills for managemnet for health information

(iii) How to use this ModuleThis module is made up of units and each unit has an exercise(s) which you must make sure you do. The references quoted in this module are supposed to be read as support for the module. Make sure you read all the required books as these are directly relevant to the achievement of the expected study outcomes. Make sure that you have competently mastered the concepts of a unit before moving to the next one.

Furthermore, you are required to attend every class session and submit the relevant assignments in good time.

(iv) How the Module fits into the Programme

The knowledge contained in this module will assist you to use your study time efficiently, communicate effectively in both academic and professional settings, use a computer for different activities and manage data appropriately in a health setting.
