OVERVIEW OF THE MODULE

This module builds on students’ previous knowledge in anatomy and physiology of the neonate and basic neonatal care. Emphasis is placed on the students’ ability to interpret the physiological and pathophysiological changes for advanced neonatal practice. The overall aim is to ensure that practitioners are prepared to practice at an advanced level and equipped to manage the needs of vulnerable neonates in partnership with their families and fellow health care providers.

HOW TO USE THE MODULE

The module has 5 units and activities which you must do. You are expected to accomplish the following:
i) Read widely the content area under each unit utilizing books, journals and internet.
ii) Consult widely on each topic including collaboration with colleagues
iii) Do all activities for each unit in order in which they are presented
iv) Keep notes from readings, presentations or activity work in a file as these are handy for revision.
