OVERVIEW OF THE MODULE
The module will give you an opportunity to examine the contemporary issues in nursing and midwifery education. The module will also explain the impact of the contemporary issues on teaching and learning. In addition, it will help you to interpret and influence the promotion of quality nursing and midwifery education. In this module, information is provided on how to use the module, expected learning outcomes, assessment criteria, learning contract.

The module has six units and under each unit there are specifications for students’ activities. Assessment of the module will be by project and examination. The Contemporary issues in nursing and midwifery module is one of the core modules, therefore, you are required to pass the module before you proceed to the following semester.

HOW TO USE THE MODULE
As you are using this module, you are expected to do the following:
a. Read widely the content area under each unit utilizing books,journals,and internet resources.
b. Consult widely on each topic including collaboration with colleagues
c. Perform all activities for each unit
d. Participate actively in class and during seminar presentations

Upon completion of this module learners shall be able to:

b) Analyze contemporary issues in nursing and midwifery education
c) Discuss the impact of contemporary issues in nursing and midwifery education.
d) Examine the role of a nurse educator in integrating contemporary issues in nursing and midwifery education
