MODULE OVERVIEW

Module descriptor: This module introduces students to community midwifery. It provides an opportunity for learners to consolidate knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes acquired in Midwifery and Neonatal Sciences to comprehensively manage perinatal mothers, neonates and their families in the community.

• How to use the module: This module has been prepared to help students learn about management of perinatal mothers, neonates and their families in the community. It is recommended that you use this module as a guide.

• How the module fits into the programme: This module together with Module 27: Midwifery Science 1 and Module 31 Neonatal Science equips you with necessary knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes to comprehensively care for perinatal women and their neonates with and without complications, and their families in the community.


Learning outcome

To apply knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes gained in the provision of comprehensive care to perinatal mothers, neonates and their families in the community.
